With a humble and grateful heart, I begin by offering my deepest thanksgiving to God Almighty, whose unfailing grace and guidance have made this journey possible. To my beloved family and loved ones, whose unwavering support, patience, and encouragement sustain me every day, thank you. To my dear friends and colleagues in the nursing profession who have walked alongside me through seasons of growth and challenge, I extend my sincere appreciation. And to our dedicated Executive Board and Advisory Council for 2026–2028, I am profoundly grateful for your commitment, wisdom, and partnership as we embark on this new chapter together.

I also wish to honor and thank all of my predecessors, the distinguished leaders who have faithfully served before me. Through their vision, sacrifice, and steadfast dedication, they have paved the way for the Philippine Nurses Association of Southern California to stand strong after 65 years of existence as the professional nursing organization of choice for Filipino American nurses in Southern California. Their legacy is the foundation upon which we continue to build.

As we look ahead, I am proud to introduce the guiding framework for our term: the AIR Mantra, Awareness, Innovation, and Resilience. Nested within this mantra are the complementary pillars of Advocacy, Intervention, and Relevance to the evolving needs of our society and our profession. These principles will shape how we lead, serve, and grow together.

Strategic Priorities for 2026–2027

Our immediate focus will be the enhancement of membership numbers, ensuring that PNASC remains vibrant, inclusive, and representative of the Filipino American nursing community. We will actively preserve and celebrate our rich cultural heritage while strengthening education and research initiatives that evolve with our members’ professional needs. Community service will remain central through meaningful partnerships that extend our impact beyond our association walls. We will continue and deepen our mental health advocacy through Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) development and training. A new Next Generation Committee will be established to oversee mentorship and leadership development for the younger generation of nurses. Finally, we will enhance engagement and communication with our members so that every voice is heard and every contribution valued.

To all our members: as we move forward together, let us remember that service, integrity, respect, and camaraderie are the bedrock of our association. These values define who we are and guide how we serve one another and the communities entrusted to our care. I am deeply honored to serve as your 28th President, and I look forward with great optimism and energy to the work we will accomplish together. May God continue to bless PNASC and each of you.
